Chevrolet Silverado EV Review
The Chevrolet Silverado EV represents a significant leap forward for both Chevrolet and the electric truck segment. It’s not simply an electrified version of the existing Silverado 1500; it’s built on a dedicated Ultium platform, resulting in a fundamentally different vehicle with impressive capabilities and innovative features.
Key Features & Specifications:
- Powertrain & Performance: The Silverado EV offers multiple powertrain options. The base model is projected to deliver 510 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque, while the RST First Edition boasts a staggering 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque in Wide Open Watts mode. Acceleration is particularly noteworthy, with the RST First Edition claiming a 0-60 mph time of around 4.5 seconds. Range varies depending on configuration, with the WT (Work Truck) model aiming for up to 450 miles, and the RST First Edition targeting around 400 miles. All-wheel drive is standard on most trims.
